The car originally was from North Carolina.  In 69, it had a 396 cu. in. engine and was raced at the track.  In 1979, the engine was changed to a small block and the car was brought up to the Milwaukee area. The owner sold it to me for $2,500. I was 21 years old.
For the next 37 years,  I enjoyed the car and then one day decided to return the car to it’s Big Block roots. I replaced the 350 engine with a 454. Along with the engine change, came lots of other upgrades : Heavy duty M20 transmission,  ceramic coated  headers, starter motor,  exhaust system, stainless steel brake lines and fuel line,  new brake booster and master cylinder, new engine wiring harness,  Rally Sport electric hideaway headlights and many other upgrades along the way in this 5 year project.  Except for getting some help installing the new motor, I did all the labor installing the parts myself.
Last fall,  my wife Laurie and I  joined the B.O.Bz. Car Club. This has opened up more opportunities to attend bigger and better shows.  We have really enjoyed going to the Shows and hanging out with the members. They are all like family and friends.

Racing is still encouraged and remains an important part. Members are welcome to race if they choose to do so. However, the best reason of all is the opportunity to connect with other riders.
